The Ethiopia Education and Skills for Employability (EASE) Project, through its Skills for Jobs (QIYAS) initiative, held a Joint Implementation Mission to review progress, address challenges, and identify priorities for successful project implementation. As part of this mission, high-level delegates from the World Bank, Ministry of Labor and Skill- FDRE, and the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) – Ethiopia visited Selam Children’s Village/Selam Technical and Vocational College where the QIYAS project is being implemented.

Following a productive high-level discussion and a traditional coffee reception, the delegation toured our project workshops, observing implementation firsthand and engaging with our project beneficiaries. The team was deeply impressed by the commitment and progress demonstrated.

The Challenge We are re Addressing:

A key driver of youth unemployment in Ethiopia is the persistent mismatch between labor market demands and the skills job seekers possess. The QIYAS project directly tackles this by equipping youth with relevant, in-demand intermediate skills.
